HEA – practical guide on collecting key parameter data for carrying out HEA Outcome Analyses
Save the Children and its partners have been implementing a regional HEA Sahel project since 2010, originally funded by ECHO and co-funded since 2013 by ECHO and OFDA. This project aims to improve the Early Warning and Response Systems (EWS) in the Sahel, through better understanding of the economic determinants of household food insecurity, in the holistic fight against malnutrition in the Sahel. The project was implemented in seven successive phases, which gradually contributed to the institutionalisation of the HEA approach in the Sahel and West Africa. The project also brought about a gradual increase in the level of technical capacity for carrying out HEA analyses as well as for using HEA tools in vulnerability assessments and early warning systems at the regional level.
